The Present State of Affairs

I thought I would share a short update on what is going on these days with me. I am currently living in Edmonton at Uncle Doug and Auntie Judy's place. I am unemployed for the time being, with no job interviews yet, or really any sign of employment. Two weeks ago I applied to 6 portering jobs with Alberta Health Services, with no response to any of them.

Sermonizing - Part III

Good morning sir. My name’s Jonathan Herbert and I’m from the church down the street. Do you ever think about religion? Oh, very good. Have you ever considered Christianity? No? Well, let me tell you a list of benefits...God’s promised us three main things. God promises to save us from our sinfulness, to restore our relationship with Himself, and to bring suffering and hardships upon your head...wait a minute...what? Is that how we evangelize? No, but maybe it should be. Suffering is something that God has promised to His people this whole way.

I then thought back to the past two months of my life, and realized that the summer I've been through has probably been the best of my life. I don't know if they get better than the one I just experienced. These are some reflections on this summer past

Shame

The topic of shame is one that has been on my mind a lot over the past couple of months, and I thought I would share some of my thoughts. This is a transcript of my grad testimony at PRBI...and I will add some more thoughts later in another post.

Reflecting on 2012

It seems to me that the new year season is an excellent time to look back on the past year...to reflect on its achievements, on its disappointments, and on how God has been shaping me into the likeness of His son. There have been all of these in the past 12 months. This list will have all of the above interspersed within.
