Share? Stay? Share? Stay? What's a flying squirrel to do?

I'm thinking very seriously of leaving the fire hall in Sexsmith. Why? And why shouldn't I? My thoughts below...

What are the arguments for firefighting?
Why should I stay on the department?
-I am somewhat depended upon as a person who can make it to
          daytime calls
-Our numbers, especially of even somewhat experienced, medically
          able firefighters is diminishing
-Good continuing experience and preparation for going into forestry job
          this summer
-I have learned so much working there for these past 18 months
-I do appreciate the guys there
-My identity is becoming more and more intertwined with the Fire
          Department
-Learn perseverance - continuing on when I don't want to
-Have an outlet/ministry outside of PRBI
-I love being known as the guy who is out saving people
          -Discipleship opportunity with Dustin (firefighter)
   Why should I leave?
-I could really use the extra time for building into guys' lives
-Things are about to ramp up so far as training is concerned
-It is so stressful to carry the pager on my belt
-It does feel as though I may have learned a lot of what I needed to
learn already - learning curve is dropping drastically
-I learned commitment when it hurts
-I learned to submit to authority, especially authority that I didn't
                    want to respect
                    -I learned teamwork
                    -I learned safety
-I learned a little of what the world outside PRBI is like
-I've learned to deal with unexpected emergencies and high
                    demands on my time
-My identity is becoming more and more intertwined with the Fire
          Department
-Leadership is becoming so sketchy with departures for the County
-I've grown to resent the level of time that the Fire Department
          demands of me

So I haven't made a final decision on this, but I am leaning towards departing. I've talked with my chief about the thinking that I am doing and he supports whatever decision I make. I do love the hall and the guys and the work I do, but I wonder if this may be a ministry that I need to move on from. More time and prayer will tell for sure. I'll keep you posted.
